Technology can be considered a key pathway to a low carbon economy in reducing both energy consumption and emissions while enabling significant energy efficiency.

A strong focus on developing and implementing technology is therefore needed to address the challenge of climate change fast and efficiently.

The collaborative project aims to develop a methodology that will help determine the optimal conditions to bring to market information and communication technologies (products, services, or infrastructures) that will best enable a low carbon economy in Europe. In doing so, it will also demonstrate the value of specific ICTs which appear to show high abatement potential.
